This took me a really long time (20+ hrs), and i rushed through the latter half of it. I'm sort of disappointed with myself because i didn't try my best, but my patience was waning. By the last few days, eveyone i passed by in the hall seemed to look like kate moss! Maybe i'll go back and fix some parts up when i have time, so critiques welcome!
I've never really done a full on portrait using tortillions to blend and had no idea how hard it was to make the skin smooth.

wow thats amazing... It seems alot like some of the things I do. not saying i am half as good as you, but I just wanted to ask.. how long have you been doing portraits like this for? In conclusion they are very good, well all of them but I like this one very much.
beautiful shading, what a smokey smudgey look. love it.
the fingers look a little short, proportionwise, perhaps heavier shading would bring out the depth you're meaning to show there.
Yeah, it can be a pain in the butt, but guess what... you did a fine job, and your rendering of textures is AMAZING. The hand especially; but the lips and the eyebrows as well

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
